Road racing is nothing new to me mate , but it is something I refrain from these days
The two of us , me and my poor old ride would leave you eating your words sonyjim
by the way ..in that other post where I picked on you ... I was only sticking up for the noob..
I was being a little too sensitive my friend ....sorry about that one

ah the love[sm=love.gif]there either must be either a rule against bashingnoobs, or you guys are cooler than most of the guys I ride with. 6 out of the 13 employees at my shop ride sportbikes(3 have f3, one has a 600RR, and the other a zx6r, leaving me as the black sheep), and I'm always catchin some flak aboutridinga naked bike.they're always asking when i'm going to get my next dirtbike(aka the speed triple). anyways, we all met up for a ride last sunday, and I showed up on the 1000RR. suddenly the trash talk came to an end..........

RE: Just got a 1000RR
I've been a member of this fourm for just over 24hours now, and must compliment on the amount of good technical info that I have already come across. This bike has potential to be great, but needs to be gone over by someone with a little more mechanical inclination than it's owner.
When I brought the bike home, it had 2master links in the drive chain, one of which was not even the correct link for the chain.[sm=badidea.gif] That link was there because the chain had mysteriously snapped shortly after he had removed the swingarm and had it painted. I have since replaced the chain, and found that it wont hold the correct tension after several adjustments.
Long story short, by searching this forum, I found a link to a diy swingarm R&I, so I can go over his hack job and make sure that everything is properly installed. Sounds to me like he didnt properly torque the adjuster nut........ guess I'll find out for sure this weekend when it comes apart.
