Default i want to ride

Hey everyone,
Iam finally getting to a place were i can get my first bike and was thinking that a CBR 600RR would be a good place to start. Does anyone have tips or ideas for me. Is this a good place to start? I don't have any real experience unless you could a few times on a dirt bike.

a 600RR isn't as powerful as a 929/954/1000, but it's still a really powerful bike. i got a lot of advice to find an older 600, so i started out on a '92 Katana 600. it got boring after a month or so, and it was a slow bike, but there were a couple times that i gave it a little too much throttle and was glad that i had a slower bike, otherwise i would have lost it for sure. the older F2 and F3 Hondas are great bikes to start on, and even an F4i would bea good starter bike. it won't be as expensive, and depending on how long you ride it, you can probably sell it for nearly the same as what you paid for it (i got $100 more for my Katana than i paid for it after riding it for 3 months). if you have some experience on dirt bikes, then a 600RR might not be a bad start. just remember one word.... restraint
