I STINK of Newness
Hi all. I guess you can say I am new to the Forum. I seemed to have registered myself back in 2006 even though I haven’t owned a bike in the past 10 years. I’ll give you a little motorcycle history on me. My 1st bike I bought was a 1985 Ninja 600R (used) in Beaufort, SC. in witch I was riding above my skill level and totaled it. 2nd bike was a 1989 FZR600 (New) witch I bought in Charleston, SC. and rode to Alameda, CA. After being in California for awhile it was sold because of too many points on my license. Insurance was too high. 3rd bike was a 1997 GSXr 600 (New). Luckily only 1 ticket of 100+ but I sold it right before my daughter was born in 1998 because I started to worry about something happening to me before she was born. 4th bike and current bike is a 2002 CBR954 (Used). I flat out love this bike. I am still shaking some of the rust off from not riding so long and adjusting to the power of more then 600cc but I am having a good time. I bought it mainly for commuting back and forth to work and weekend trips and it has been a rush every time I climb aboard. I have only owned it for 3 weeks. Oh, I found out the 1st day the bike does not like you to ride it wearing shorts. Damn it can blow some hot air. With 37.7 mpg around town and 50.7 on the highway (as of yesterday) I am thrilled. So thanks for having me and I look forward to chatting with you and picking your brain if I have any questions.

Welcome to the board! First things first ... this is a different kind of motorcycle community and in general frown on wearing shorts while riding ATGATT = All The Gear All The Time ... more righteous to sweat than bleed, eh?
And congrats on the MPG ... most I can squeeze outta the 1kRR is 37mpg and that's only if I ride like a nun
