Default I STINK!!!

I'm new to street bikes and was wondering if it was normal for your clothes to smell like gas and exhaust after a short ride. Is it because the exhaust pipe is right under the seat or is my carb in need of some adjustment or something? Don't laugh but I think I read somewhere that they sell something that you pour into your gas tank and it makes your exhaust smell like strawberries or some other delicious fruit.

Probably from the cars around you. Your exhaust blows out behind you and the gas tank should be sealed. Unless you got a 50mph tail wind your exhaust shouldn't taint you

And be proud ... this is about the first original question I've read in a long time [8D]

it's exactly what chain said. I don't notice any odors, or I should say my wife doesn't notice any odors if we do a ride on rural/country roads. It's amazing the exhaust fumes you are setting in during traffic or a tunnel... What bike and year are you ridding? Most of the bikes we ride here are fuel injected... you shouldn't have any fuel leaks, if you do, you have much bigger problems to worry about than smells

The stink is very usual, but not a lot of people start threads about it, it was one of the complaints when the bike first came out and I think it's just a characteristic of the under-tail exhaust. I'm guessing that because of the drafting at the rear of the bike the air current probably does some funky things (like swirling around) and gets back on the rider.

Take a look at this picture...not only is it a bad *** shot of me at Beaver Run, but you can see the exhaust stream swirling behind me (makes a nice effect).

If you want some sweet smelling exhaust go to: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/xq/asp...qx/Product.htm I put groovy grape in my old bike (04 gs500f) and it smelled great for almost 2 tanks but a little goes a long way.
