Default I need a title

I need a clean title for a 1995 thru 1998 Cbr 600f3 if anyone has one to sale I need it bad I will purchase the frame also i really just want the title so I can get a license plate and insurance on my bike. I purchased a bike from a guy a few years ago and he has passed away the bike was from Ohio I live in ky and there's no way I can title the bike I've tried everything. I had the dmv in ky run the vin and nothing comes up. Ohio dmv ran it and it shows up as the guy I bought it from that has passed on. I just want a title I can put in my name.

welcome to the forum. It is illegal to purchase a title that doesn't match the vin on your frame. Here in UT you have to have the vin number checked to the frame when doing a title transfer by calling a local police officer to sign it off. We can also put in paperwork for custom built bikes so that may be the route you should look in to if you have proof that the previous owner passed away and the title has his name on it.

I would think the previous owners Personal Representative should be able to sign off on getting you the title you need. I was the PR on an estate and that is one of the duties I had to handle. Might take a little leg work to track down, but should be able to be done and get done legally. Also shouldn't cost much either....duplicate title fee, maybe a notarized signature or two, then your state fees.
