Two or three will work, 10 and she will not fall in turns at 80mph. Proven.

***UPDATE***

I showed up in Wilmington and the previous owner 'secured' the bike on the trailer for me. Looked like a good enough job, I checked the tie downs after 30 minutes and then on the hour as the trip went along. About an hour from home I notice the bike is no longer visible from my rear view mirror. I pull over and sure enough it is laying on it's side.

Bad news is I lost the right mirror and scuffed the windshield slightly. [:@]

Good news is I ONLY lost the right mirror and scuffed the windshield slightly (no other damage to the bike). I also learned how to secure the living hell out of the bike on my own, on the side of the road at night. I'll call this a $30 lesson well learned, never trust someone else with my bike.

Again, thanks to everyone for the input.

Damn that sucks, but Don I've trailered 2 bike home with 4 straps....I guess that means I'm a bike strap expert! LOL!!! Sorry to hear about that...replacement mirrors aren't that bad in price. The actual is about $30, but there is a place that sells the replicas for $15. I've got to find out the name.

The way this guy hooked the straps to my trailer 10 would have failed. I was opening the new tie downs with a dull *** knife (they tie wrap them to the packaging like they are made of China) handing them to him and opening the next. I checked tension, made sure the straps weren't rubbing the bike etc, but failed to notice he just laid the hooks on the railing.

Next time, I will be confident with my abilities and yeah... I' throw a couple extra straps on it.

Maybe change your nickname to 'pitsvtec aka strapdown queen'?

I can get a mirror for $30 delivered. Not bad at all.
