Karl, welcome to the forum, and the bike looks great!
Here's my Repsol F2:

As far as helping you to learn more about this edition of bike, that won't be too easy, as Conrice is correct - the only F3 special editions from Honda were the Smokin' Joes bikes.

I'm curious what the 50th anniversary designation means, as the first Honda production bike was the Dream, in 1949, and they didn't export any bikes for a few years after that.

As far as official Repsol replicas produced by Honda, the first Repsol replica was the 2005 CBR 1000RR, which celebrated 10 years of the Repsol team being the official Honda factory squad, and the first Repsol 600's of any sort came just last year.

It's a beautiful, well equipped bike, so that's all that really matters, but as far as where it came from, or who built it, and designated it as a special edition of sorts, my guess would be:

1) Someone is lying - either the seller, or a previous owner that sold it to whom you bought it from, or:

2) This limited run was a project taken on by a bike builder, or a dealer.

For example, in the U.S., back in the late 60's and early 70's, there were special production muscle cars, which began as factory equipped, but were then high-performance tuned by dealers, getting also some special livery and/or interior graphics with the name of the special edition.
Don Yenko was one of these performance car builder/dealership owners, that "hopped up" these cars, by putting in more powerful motors than what came from the factory, in addition to upgrades of suspension, transmission, and sometimes bodywork, and then sold them with Chevrolet's endorsement... thus the Yenko Camaro, Yenko Chevelle, and Yenko Nova. (These cars were seriously BAD!! )
Carroll Shelby did something similar with Fords, and later with some Dodges.

Maybe there was/is a dealer or performance shop there, that did something similar with these bikes? If you learn anything more, definitely fill us in, but for now, enjoy riding that sweet machine!
