hey guys, new member from philly
whats up guys, new member here. my name is john. Kinda new to riding. rode dirt bikes and quads my whole life, and finally today bought a 1997 cbr 600 F3! Its not brand new, but i wanted to start on something used. Any pointers, besides the usual , ride safely at first and get comfy with the bike?
P.S. Anyone have a headlight , the bracket that holds it in and windscreen for sale? for a 97 cbr?

Good choice to start on something used and small like a 6. Know your limits and stay within them. Although you may do mods to improve performance, don't do what you're not comfortable doing. Peer pressure sucks but 6 feet deep pressure is worse. Stay up!
Grats on the purchase, I just got my 95 F3 not too long ago, yeah besides riding safe and knowing when not to go too hard you should be alright. Welcome to the board!
thanks guys, my buddy was showing me how to do wheelies easily. I was putting my left leg on the rear passenger peg, and using the rear leg to control the rear brake when im up. But dont jump down my throat, because im a new rider doin wheelies already, i feel super comfy, as i have ridden plenty of 600's before this purchase. But yea, im taking my time learning stuff, and im only doing small wheelies, around 15-20 mph, until i find the balance point and learn how it feels to be ridin on 1 wheel!!
Wow, thats pretty nice man. Hoepfully one day i'll be able to get the wheel up like that, shoot I fishtailed for the first time the other day downshifting/braking too hard and it scurred the crap out of me, then it happened again and it didn't bother me too much, it's good doing stuff like that tho, learning and what not so you know what and what not to do if the situation ever comes up.
yea, just try this.
1. find a nice straight away, pref. no curbs, with grass on the side. No traffic, or anything to hit.
2. Put your left foot on the rear pass. peg, and position ur right foot, with ur toes on the brake and kinda stand off the bike a bit. (try riding like this for a few seconds, get comfortable with the postition).
3. be at about (for me) 7k in 2nd gear. !!START EASY!! by lightly revving it up, and slipping the clutch out. As u are revving/letting the clutch out, kinda push down and pull up on the handlebars/front end so u can preload the bike to pull up. Start with slow revs, and work ur way up, dont rev to 13k and dump the clutch, it will come up real fast.
4. Now that u can get the wheel up, once u get it up, work with the rear brake very slightly (depending on the brake response u have), and the more u push the brake, the more the front of the bike will come back down, so even it out with the throttle.
5. BE CAREFUL!!! i cant stress it enough. Try this slowly first, and DONT TRY THIS IN 1st!! You will pull the bike up super fast and can easily wreck it!!
Soooo basically, put ur foot on the rear pass. peg and lightly drop the clutch after revving it, go slow, and work ur way up to it... ur first wheelie doesnt need to be insane. practice makes perfect!!
