Default Hey guys Motorcycle Newbie

hey guys and gals, the names Justin. Wanted a bike for a super long time but wanted to wait until i was alittle older to get one. (figured if i had gotten it when i was 19-20 id want to go ape****) So, after now calming my craving for speed I proudly stand before you all with my 2013 CBR250R Repsol Edition. Sure its not fast, but she sure is pretty and quite nimble. All of my friends have I4 crotch rockets, but im not in any rush to kill myself, so i started off slow lol.

I bought her with Zero miles, and am taking her slow until the recommended 600mile mark. Once thats done i plan to do a full exhaust, a power commander... and thats basicaly it, there isnt much performance mods out there for the 250r.

I have some pictures, but i dont think im allowed to post attachments yet. cheers and im very happy to be a part of the Honda Motorcycle gang

Welcome to the CBR Forum Justin,

The CBR250 is a great bike to start with, so enjoy it to the fullest. I also firmly believe that a 250 teaches you to corner better as it is a lighter bike with less power than the 600s or 1000s. I still enjoy riding the smaller capacity bikes after 37 years of riding.

Cheers, SB

welcome to CBRF! there's nothing wrong with a 250 as your first bike. and as far as the age thing - i'm still just as eager to jump on the throttle as i was when i was 19 and started riding! once you get the itch, it won't go away. throw up some pics - the easiest thing to do is to attach pics from photobucket using their image code

Welcome to the forum.

That 250 will take you everywhere you want to go, and get better mileage. It will teach you how the physics of a bike work and how to really ride it better than a 1000rr.

There was a vid of a guy on a track with a 250 that was schooling 1000rrs. The big bikes were faster in the straights, but this guy ran them down and passed them in the corners.

Hello Justin, we must have much harsher licensing laws in Australia than you do over there. 250cc was the biggest bike I could ride by law for the 1st 18months of holding my license, but they were good fun reving them hard! If I could have started on a bigger bike I've got no doubt I would have crashed it at a higher speed thinking back to when I was 10feet tall and bulletproof! I got a VFR400s after the 250s and destroyed both of the 400s (and both of my legs) within 6months. But that was a good reality check for my 20yr old brain. I've only had good times riding since.
