Default Hello from Tristen

So I just bought my first bike because... well... I have absolutely no reason why I bought it... Impulse buy on my b-day, ftw I suppose...

It's an old 600F2 I'm picking up off a good friend. Bodywork needs a little TLC, but I'm sure I'll lay the bike down a couple times while I learn to ride before I replace all the plastic, so no problems there.

Other than bikes, which I'm just getting into... A lot of my friends consider me a modern day Renaissance Man and a Jack of All Trades.

I'm 26 (as of a couple days ago) and I've worked at a nuclear power plant, ceramics laboratory, metal foundry (research based), medical materials lab, as an auto mechanic (un-certified), as a carpenter, as a sailmaker, in USATODAY's IT Department, I currently work at the Federal Reserve Board in their IT department, and I have a BIT in computer forensics.

Other than all that, I enjoy vintage audio gear, vacuum tubes, vintage shaving gear (straight razors, DE razors, and Injectors, depending on the day), my saltwater fishtank, vintage militaria, and computer or console gaming...

Nice to meet you all, and I'd be glad to chat or answer questions or whatnot as others say hi.

You have quite the background. Welcome aboard.

A well maintained F2 is a solid bike. You should enjoy it.

Highly recommend the MSF course. Motorcycle Safety Foundation. It teaches basic riding technique & safety, & counts toward the DMV written & riding test in most states.

Enjoy the forum! :-)

Ya, I'm planning on taking that course posthaste. I've heard good things about it, along with not having to take the 3mo learners permit.

yeah there was some confusion over that on mine when I had it in getting new fork oil, the guy couldn't work out if it was 93 or 94 forks. And me like a noob couldn't tell him!
