Hello everyone. Advice needed
Hi folks I'm new to this forum and have never posted here before.
I have a CBR600fs/2, about 7000 miles on the clock. I passed my test about a month back and I am really pleased with it, great bike. Two things I have noticed though.
1). When I come back from a ride and put the bike into neutral the bike sounds like the radiator is kicking in... but when I pull the clutch in the humming sound goes?
2). After riding for about 30 minutes the same thing occurs only at about 3000-4000rpm though... This has only started happening recently.
Is this just me being paranoid with it being my first bike or is it nothing to worry about.
Thanks
Dom

What's up, dom? Welcome to the forum! I can't really answer your question with any certainty. I know the fan on the radiator kicks on around 225 degrees or so but that has nothing to do with your clutch being engaged or not. Also, your clutch will rattle a little when the bike is in neutral and the clutch is engaged. Pull the clutch lever in and the rattle goes away. Then there's the rattle that comes from the cam chain around that rpm range when the cctl goes bad. If it's just the fan, no worries. If it's your clutch and not excessively loud, or grinding, again no worries. Read through the threads about the cctl and make your own call on that. Some people swear you stand a good chance of destroying your engine if you ignore it. Others have put over 70,000 miles on the bike without replacing the cctl. Post your question in the f2 section and see if anyone there knows anything specific to your bike that may better help you. If all else fails you might be able to get one of the guys at the dealership to listen to it without charging you anything. Generally speaking, all the cbr's are well built and worry free. Again, welcome to cbrf and happy riding to you!
