Hello from Eastern Canada
Hi All,
New rider and soon to be CBR owner here. I first started looking at getting my Motorcycle license this summer and will be fully licensed in a couple of weeks. I've always fancied a sport bike but I'm quite a tall chap at 6'8" so wasn't very optimistic about finding one to fit. My first thoughts were that I'd be forced to go with an adventure/touring bike due to my height. I'm also a child of the 80's so mid 90's bikes hit me right in the nostalgia feels.
Whilst visiting one of the local dealerships to pic up some basic gear I came across a 97 CBR F3 and much to my surprise I found the bike was a really comfortable fit. I had previously tried a GSX and a couple of other sports type bikes and found them too small (elbows on thighs kind of stuff). So I'm set on a CBR 600 for my first bike (ideally an F3/4 pre fuel injection), I've had good recommendations from friends that own and have previously owned CBR's. I thought It would be a good idea to join the forum for some advice on buying a used CBR (I have found a couple locally) and going forward id like to get to grips with some basic maintenance etc.
Kind regards,

Welcome to the Forum Andy!
I'm from the 80's as well, love 80's music too. I have the opposite problem, I can only reach the ground on tip toes on most bikes (unless i get the Honda Rebel 500).
I think the litre bikes may fit you better but enjoy what ever you get!
