Default Hello from Calgary Alberta

Hello everyone...I'll get right to it...I'd like to buy a bike sometime this winter because I like riding. I don't have my licence but getting it shouldn't be a big issue since I've been riding bikes and quads religiously for the last 15 years. I am a University student (taking Geology) so I'm not looking to spend a whole lot of money but I still want a decently quick bike. I'm looking for something with at least 600cc, most likely an early to mid 90's CBR. I'm fairly mechanically inclined (I've done a lot of work to my truck including a custom intake and header). There is a bike close to my house that I like the sound of...it's a 1992 CBR900R. Seems there's a lot of work done to it, and it is within my price range for sure. Here's an exact excerpt from the ad...I haven't done a lot of research on the prices of bikes so I don't know how good of a deal it is or even what to really look for if I go look at it beyond the obvious bike stuff.

55615 km, rebuilt engine with lots of life left,. Rear tire is almost brand new, and all fluids are newly changed. Full yosh RS3 carbon fibre exhaust system, 5 degree ignition advancer, ported head, K&N filter and jet kit, stainless steel braided brake lines, dyno tuned and very fast and raw. Updated fairings and body.

Let me know what you think...the ad has been there for a while so I might go offer him $1700 or 1800 and see if he takes it. A little more random info...I drive a 2005 GMC Canyon as a daily driver, done lots of mods to it, I also have a 1964 Chevy Impala convertible that is mostly stock with just under 90,000 miles, redone top, interior, and chrome. I also have had several dirtbikes over the years, right now a 1985 Honda XR250 and a 1986 Yamaha Warrior. Hopefuly I manage to find a bike...if I do I'll certainly be spending time here.

Thanks...and yeah...there's a few 92-96 CBR's in the area that I'm interested in...I'm just trying to decide if I should buy one this year or wait until next winter to buy one...I'm really hoping to find one that hasn't been dropped or laid down as that just bugs the s*** out of me.
