Hello all, need some advice PLEASE!
I am torn between a 600RR and the 1000RR. I am 6'3", 210 lbs. I have ridden MX almost my entire life and have several years of Harley riding. But ZERO "go fast" hours.
That being said, what would the group recommend?
Not that age really matters to me......but I am 42 and have always wanted a crotch rocket!

I think that someone your size would feel pretty cramped on either bike, unless you're a lot more limber than this 43-year old. The 1000 is obviously more powerful, but not really any roomier. You should go to the dealer and sit on them, and try to imagine what it would feel like after a ccouple hours in the saddle. If you think you'll need a litle more leg room, you could try an F4i, or maybe a sport tourer like the VFR. Whatever street bike you get, you'll need to have the suspension set for your weight.

Sounds like the idea of sitting on it for comfort is the best bet. As for the bike....either one will rip you around! And the way they build these things now they will both handle about the same in the twisties! So go feel it out....and let us know what you chose. WITH PICS

This would be a weekend/fair weather type bike. So long rides are not to much of an issue.
I am leaning towards a 600 just for the ease and agility. I sort of compare it to a CR-125 and CR-250 in MX. 250 is a blast but also a handfull at times in that it does not allow for to many mistakes. Where as a 125 is just fun, a little under powered at times but just FUN.
Between a 600 and 1000...someone just told me "each one will kill you just as fast if your stupid". Words to live by I guess.

Either the 600 or the 1000 will make a typical Harley feel like a pig (not a HOG, but a fat lazy slow shaking noisy smellypig). Plus you will like the EZ cleanup of a fully faired bike. It may not be rolling sculpture like a Harley, but they are fun.
