lol, not new to forums but those videos always get a laugh from me
i was a 600 guy
the username: i like to take things people have given up on and rebuild them so they can be used again, and i like to go fast so reckedracing seemed to fit
i have been down a few times but never hurt myself badly but i knew my time was coming so i had to "retire"
here's a history of my bikes, keep in mind this was 10 years ago
so the ancient bikes you see weren't such dinosaurs back then
1980 Yamaha 250
very comfortable bike, low seat height , great beginner bike
got my motorcycle license on this bike before i had a car permit or license
it took months of convincing my parents to let me get a bike at 16, but it was worth it
snapped a rocker arm on the way back from my road test, had to truck the bike back home
mine was also red
2nd bike
1991 Ninja 250
logical next baby step from the bike above, i think i was 17 at the time
my bike was all black
3rd and last bike
1986 zx6r "ninja"
I think I was 17 when i got this bike
traded in the 2 above bikes fall of 1997 for a showroom mint red ninja
set me back about $2000 plus the "trade-ins", but it was very very clean
almost lost my life more times that I care to remember, so i ended up leaving the bike in storage for years until I traded it for random audio equipment
I had a good 2 or 3 summers from this bike, it was stupid fast next to anything I had ridden prior and would keep up with the "modern" bikes until about 100 mph and then they would walk on me (more like run)
so now that I'm older and wiser (and less reckless) I'm searching for a bike for this season. I will probably end up with a cbr F3 since I'm also on a tight budget saving for a house.

What kindof budget you looking at bud? Might be able to get some pretty good recommendations if we knew the general ballpark. Personally I'd say you'd prolly be happiest and most comfortable on a f4i, but a f3 or f4 (not "i") would deff be cheaper. Considering what you were used to a RR wouldn't likely be very comfortable for you due to your previously learned riding position and your.. umm.. advanced age. Heh, just kiddin. 10 years is a long time to be gone though bud, welcome back.

Much appreciated.
I'm looking at maybe $2000 budget range.
I've got 2 weeks in Florida coming up after tax season and I'm buying a house this summer to take advantage of the $8000 first time homebuyer credit.
I've never sat on an RR but I would imagine I can handle it, just not the price tag. I would love an F4i, something about fuel injection just makes my heart warm, but again, the budget. If I sell my accord I'll have some more money to go for the bike. So I have to see what comes along but I'd like to be somewhere around $2000 unfortunately everything is over priced by a mile in my area.
