Red face Greetings from Switzerland on 2 and 3 wheels.

Hi everyone!

I am Mlle_Lapin, aka Dominique (a girl), currently living in Switzerland

As far as 2 wheels go, I ride a 2008 BMW R1200GS Adventure and a 2011 BMW R1200R Classic.

As far as 3 wheels go... I just bought a Beringer CBR/Orion side-car, which was built in 1992. The bike is a 1990 CBR 1000 F.

Hence my subscription to this forum, where I hope to find information, tips and tricks to keep it running for a long time.

Otherwise, in real life, Lapin (which you can translate as rabbit) is one of my donkeys. Have two of those at home.

That's about it for now, I guess.

Glad to be here!

Wow!

Welcome to the CBR Forum Dominique,

This is great on so many levels.

1. Although I love all my bikes, if I had to choose a bike to ride out my days it would be a BMW1200 GSA (4 valve) having spent a month on one in Easter Europe in 2010. They are just soooooooo capable.
2. The Beringer CBR/Orion side-car - a divine set up I'm looking forward to more pictures of that machinery.
3. You ride/drive a side car and........
4. You are a woman.

I am full of admiration.

My partner Mrs SB rides, got her license when she was 50 and now rides all over the world with me as well as in Australia.

I look forward to hearing more.

Cheers, SB

Wow that CBR looks like something else! I'd say you've got enough power there to haul around a sidecar

Red face

thanks!

i have a few more pictures of the Beringer being driven in the snow. i tried to create an album, but my account is apparently not activated yet. and i don't have access to that function yet.

i am 42 and got my license in 2010. i started on a harley 883 iron, got bored of it very quickly, moved on to a triumph speed triple 1050 (passed the exam with this one), exchanged the harley for a honda pan european 1100 to travel, before moving on to the BMWs... and finally had the bikes that best suited my needs and riding style.

the GSA is indeed an incredible bike.

i got the R1200R Classic first, just because the BMW salesman here "refused" to sell the GSA to me at the time, stating that i was a girl, that it was too high for me, too heavy and that it just wouldn't do.

but two years later, i finally got one anyway and save from adapting the saddle a little, i haven't had to modify it in any other way to fit.

the side-car, well... that's always been a dream of mine. i was lucky that a friend of mine got himself a new one and gifted the Beringer to me. it needs some work, as it has lacked a little "love" for the past two years. but nothing major.
