Default Greenhorn on red F4 in SoCal

I don't know why it took me so long, but I've finally found CBR Forum!! Hi everybody!! Allow me to introduce myself.

I took the MSF beginner course over a year ago (June 2008) and then it took me almost six months (December 2008) to actually get a bike. I wanted to buy used to save money, but I also wanted one that was in tip-top shape so I shopped for a long, long time. Finally I found a '99 F4 at a dealership near my house, never been down, all original, with only 5,000mi on the clock! And it was dirt, dirt cheap because they were having trouble moving an old carbureted model like that, so I grabbed it.

So for now I'm trying to gather experience and self-confidence without getting arrogant or exceeding my limits. I can feel that the bike's capabilities are far greater than mine, but I'm happy to take my time filling in that gap comfortably. ;D

Yep, welcome to the CBR Forums, zaarin!
Plenty of good info and good people here.
Sounds like you're doing everything right...
MSF, taking it slow... and most importantly...
riding a CBR.

Welcome to CBRF!! I have to agree with the Tail Gunner, you are going about this in exactly the right way zaarin. Good planning and patience are always rewarded in the long run and you are a shining example of that. Congrats on the new bike and be safe out there!!

Oh, and post up some pics of your new baby when you get some...

I thought about it... is it worth it? I mean, she's very clean and nice, but just a bone-stock black-on-red F4. If people are interested I will certainly take some pics. I have been wanting to cruise up to a scenic location and take some nice ones for desktop wallpapers and stuff anyway. ;]
