Permit laws vary by state. Here in PA, for example, a permit means no passengers and no riding after dusk. Dunno NY permit restrictions

same in indiana except that they require a helmet too if you only have the permit

i live in iowa and i lost my liscence for 2 months had a probationary liscence for a year and sr-22 for two years and all that for only having a permit!

no they don't unless that's a new thing. if you are under 18 they require a helmet though.

lol i just got my permit the other day i think it changed in 2008 that its manditory for those with just a permit to wear a helmet even though in general indiana doesnt require a rider to use a helmet

i know in indiana your allowed to ride with a permit just not at night with a helmet and no passengers
