Default CBR1000RRThis site is Great

Hi All,

Bought aBlack 2006 CBR 1000RR stock and have done some upgrades on my own.Ifind this site informative and enjoyable and have taken a lot of tipsfrom it while working on my bike. I hope I can contribute to some of the threads. I will post a few pictures soon (in a week).I previously owned a CBR Hurricane(10 years ago) and a few dirt bikes before that. Needsome track days as this seems to be the consensus of the forum for increasing skills .. hopefully I can find a track in Miami. I have a HJC helmet but I am not happy with it. Feel free to respond with your thoughts

Current upgrades:
Yoshi RS-5 ( I think this has really improved the bikes performance)
Flush front indicators (need to put washers behind them to make really flush)
Ordered the Puig Gloss Black Huugger (3-4) weeks back order
Eliminated rear fender

Pending projects:
Power commander - to smooth out engine performance?
Rim Pin stripes -
Flapper mod? - need to research what this is but it seems like a must do based
Improve my riding skills (most important)

Welcome to the site. I have an HJC as well and I too am not happy with it. Gotta save up my money for a new one. Probably a scorpion exo-700.

Thanks all for the welcome.

I think I'm going for a Shoei this time instead of the HJC. I only went with the HJC to save money and also because it was light in weight.

Does anyone have any suggestions on specific Shoei models?

Hi and welcome to the site!
The last 2 helmets that I've had were AGVs(Biaggi and Rossi 500 replicas)and have had absolutely no complaints. Fit and finish top notch. You might want to check out Z1R helmets also. Had the best score in a private helmet test by Motorcyclist mag. AND had the lowest price by a large margin ($70-140) so you might want to check those out as well. That will be my next helmet purchase
