Arrow Bought My First Bike!

This is my first bike and so far it seems like a great bike to learn on. Small quick and nimble. And very comfortable..

Its a 1993 Honda CBR600F2 with only 15,000 miles.

The only thing done to it is a D&D slip on and a stage 2 jet kit. I am also running Race Gas in it..

Been riding it all day. I love it!! ..

So what you guys think? I paid $1600 for the bike..

Nice bike man! She looks in awesome shape, really clean and in original trim.

Now, just ride her likes she´s meant to be riden but keep the rubber side down
What do you mean by race gas? How many octanes is that?
My regular gas here in Portugal is 95 and premium 98 and 100

I believe its 105 octane.

A buddy of mine is going to give some VP C12 which is a 112 octane to try. He only runs C16 now in his race car and has no use for the C12. So I'm gonna see how the bike responds to it. It LOVES the 105...

Thanks for the welcome and the links. I'll give them a look..

Do you have any links or literature for the high octane thing? Coming from a Drag Racer back ground. It seems anything with almost a 12:1 compression ratio would benefit from race gas. Especially at high rpms....

I actually noticed an immediate improvement in throttle response. And it seemed like the bike pulled harder through out the entire power band.. Maybe it was a placebo effect?? But I'm pretty definite I know what I felt... But if its hurting the bike I won't run it....

This is my first bike. But I've heard a LOT of other bikes with different pipes. IMO this is the best pipe I have ever heard. Hands down. Its perfect. Its not annoyingly loud. But just loud enough to make the bike sound like it means business. And it has an amazingly deep throaty sound at idle and low rpm's. I love it! Its perfect IMO.

I know video's showing off the sound of a pipe suck. But you get an idea of the idle sound from this short video I took with my camera...

Well. I take it pretty easy on the bike and very rarely see anything over 7000rpm... I'll give regular gas a try and see how it runs.. And I never intend to race it. Just casual street riding..

But from my experience. When tearing down engines running on pump gas there is tons of carbon build up. And with a higher compression engine running pump gas. Detonation can occur. Which in turn builds heat and damages pistons..

But in general. A quality race is going to burn much cleaner than a low quality pump gas. Thats why there is a clean white residue at the end of your pipe when you run race gas. And not a nasty black one. Because its cleaner.. But to do this. I think it burns hotter than regular gas.. So I don't know...

I'll give pump gas a try and talk to some other people that are into bikes... Cause like I said. I have a car background. So what applies there might not apply to bikes... Thanks for bringing it to my attention though. I'll defiantly research it now.... Cause the last thing I want to do is harm my bike in anyway...
