Default Bike newbie looking to get a f4i soon

I've wanted a bike for a while but never had the opportunity. I have my eye on a 01 f4i 600. I was wondering what's it really worth. It's easier for me to just link to the thread. http://www.importatlanta.com/forums/motorcycles-atv-classifieds/331998-01-honda-cbr600-f4i-$3000obo.html

It also comes with another set of front fairings and RR swingarm conversion.

I hope to be riding as soon as the weather clears

G'Day Ed and welcome to the CBR Forum,

I can't really comment on what it's worth, though the owner seems pretty keen for it to go. I'll let the US based 600 owners kick in with what they think it's worth.

If not this one though, keep looking for your bike. It will eventually find you

Cheers, SB

A 600 cc supersport, even an older one like the F4i, is not a good bike for a beginner. You will develop your riding skills faster, with less chance of a serious crash, on a bike that will let you learn from your mistakes without throwing you off. If you want a sportbike, look at a CBR250, a Ninja 250, or a Ninja 500. Maybe even a twin 650 like an SV. Put a few thousand miles on it, get some instruction, take it to the track a couple times if you can. Then when it's time to move on to a more powerful bike, you'll be able to ride circles around the people who started out on more bike than they can handle.

It's probably worth it. Why hasn't it sold for the $2500 he's asking? Makes you wonder.

That link is old and hasn't been commented on in a few months. Are you sure it's still for sale?

~$2500 isn't bad if it is in good mechanical shape. all the random stickers throw me off, but a hairdryer could fix most of that.

Offer $2K and see if he bites.

The stickers will be the first thing to go, and I'm not a fan of red to begin with.

It has a new tensioner, anything else I should look for mechanically?
