AZ Rider - Just got new (to me) F2!
Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I've been riding trail bikes since I was 8, started out on a good ol' Honda Trail 70 and moved up to a 90 in my early teens. Got a Yamaha TW a few years ago, which introduced me to the streets. I've always enjoyed mountain-riding in Idaho... Finding lakes to fish, exploring, etc. and wasn't ever really into two-stroke wing-dingers, but I found out that I really liked riding the open roads too. In late 2005 I picked up a 1992 CBR600F2 which had been dropped and the fairings were a bit rough. I decided that it'd be a good intro-bike for streets and I could learn on it before I decided if I really wanted to invest in a newer fuel-injected bike. I wanted to fix up the "roughness" before I rode it too much, so me and my brother and a good friend worked on it on-and-off for over a year to get all the little kinks worked out and learned some bodywork skills in the process. I finished up the bike last year just in time for winter to strike and only got to ride it three times before I parked it for the winter. It's a thing of beauty and I've already had 2 people tell me that they want it whenever I'm ready to sell. It runs great - the previous owner owns a bike shop and it was his own personal commuter that he restored from the ground up, then dropped it on a cindery road. I have a few more little things I need to do before it's completely done, but it's definitely rideable and I can't wait until April rolls around and snow will no longer be a worry. (They cinder the roads where I live, so I don't plan on driving until the last snow has fallen and the streets are swept.)
So anyway, that's the long introduction, I hope to enjoy my stay here and learn a lot about the sport! I know the few times I've ridden it's been a blast - much better than riding the TW on the streets!
