Am I being stupid/squid-like?

RE: Am I being stupid/squid-like?
I went from an 82 cb 650 to a 92 FZR 1000 with 136 hp with no problems. It's just about knowing your limits. Respect the power and you should be fine.
I also took a safety course that had a variety of different bikes to try, so I had a little experience with some bigger displacement bikes.
Anyways, I say go for it.

One can be injured or worse on any bike. Having ridden motorcycles for 20+ years I can say it doesn't take much on any bike to cause problems. Any bike can be tamed if the rider takes his/her time to master their machine. However, any mastering of skills is useless if one does not know their own and the bikes limitations. My advice, ride smart and enjoy no matter the bike. With your size you should have no problems adjusting to this size bike.

Thanks for the input guys (same person here, just got rid of the stupid '84'), wasn't a big fan of the color scheme so I decided to walk away from it, if I get a bike that serious, I'll be keeping it for quite a while, and I want to have a paint scheme I wouldn't regret
