I ride a 900rr, only because it cost me $1k. I was in the market for a 600, mainly because of the size, and it has ample power for anyone that likes to really ride. I have ridden my friends '04 1000rr and yeah, I had a tendency to get the front end off the ground. When I get back stateside next year, I will be lookin' for a 600rr, when I find a good deal, I'll buy it and never look back.

You have to look at the overall picture...insurance, riding partners, riding area, experience, etc.. A 1k will scare the heck out of you but a 600 will too if you never rode a crotch rocket before. I am a U.S. Marine and between the two bases I ride between here in NC., I find a lot of the guys coming back from Iraq are buying 1k's like its candy. Most of them are not ready for it. You can tell by the way they ride and the mistakes they make. These guys are around 19-22 years old. If you have a thought for 1 second that you may not be able to handle any 1k....don't get one. Your mind should keep you in check. Know your limits and stay within them. If you are ready to get a 1k...you will not hesitate to get it (maturely). Your mind will tell you if you know you can handle it.

Or you could compare the 90's CBR 1000F versus the 2000's 1000RR. The older model is bigger, heavier, much more comfortable, has a better fairing, better lights, better seat, more leg room, and softer suspension. So no contest, the older model is better. Just depends what you're looking for.

i think a lot of people would agree that most of this is subject to personal opinion....like you said, its what you're looking for. i know it would take an act of congress to get me off my 1000rr. as far as standing up exiting corners (or anytime) i have not had any problems with this. i even dropped a tooth up front and as long as youre not ham-fisting it in first the front stays were it belongs.....unles you dont want it there[sm=lildevil.gif]
