i know that i went and took written and driven test only a day apart.

I have some experience on smaller dirt bikes, but not street bikes. You have to be 18 to just walk in and take the test and also have to have your permit for 3 months. To get the license while under 16 or 17 you must take the MSF classes offered by the state as well as some tests.
