Practical Sportsbikes, October 2011 Issue....
In case anyone missed it, there was a comparison test between a 1989 CBR1000F and Kawasaki ZX-10 in last month's issue of this excellent magazine....It inspired me to bite the bullet, and buy a CBR1000F of my own....It arrives later this week!
For anyone that did miss it, it's available as a back issue (£4.99 including U.K. postage) on 01733 468099....It's issue 12/October 2011.

Somewhere I have an 1991 issue where they compared the ZX-11, CBR, FJ1200 and Katana 1100. As I remember, the ZX-11 was quicker and faster and therefore won the comparison. The CBR was second (The 89, 90 and 91 CBR1000F's were the same). But several of the testers preferred the CBR which was more comfortable, and had better brakes and handling.
I had a 1989 ZX-10 for 10+ years and I must say it had a little more zing than my current 93 cbr100f but I also think it was a little ligher with roughly same HP (130-135). It wasn't as comfortable IIRC.
I think you're referring to the 93 Cycle World comparo- which is available here- https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=f661f...4A8CD45E%21102
