The article seems to go back and forth comparing the original 1000 to the 1kF to the RR. Also, the measurements at the end of the article use the original 1000, not the 1kF

What's the difference? The original 1000 is a 1KF.

Hmm, yes: interesting article. I do have an anorak (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anorak_(slang)) comment, though .

The article says the 1kF at 60mph is at 3750rpm and the RR is 4110rpm. Last Sunday I rode my mate's '07 FireBlade and noticed that at 4000rpm the speedo said about 105kph, then, on Monday, I rode my '89 1kF and at 4000rpm the speedo also said about 105kph. Yeah, yeah: inaccurate speedos, whatever, but the article implies fairly different gearing which my highly scientific observations didn't confirm.

One area the 1000F outperforms the RR big-time is in comfort: 500km on the FireBlade and I was ready to be hositalised...

how is it possible that on that review the braking distance on hurricane is shorter than fireblade? And 2,75 sec to 100kph ? really those are numbers to be proud but are those real also? I always thought that she goes a bit over 3 seconds to 100kph.
And the brakes at least on my bike are definitely not that good as 09 fireblade.
