Default Why Are They Female

Hi peoples,

I have a question that I'm hoping someone can answer.

I read this forum every day and I have started to notice that everyone thinks of their bike as female, mine being "The Pink Lady". Can anyone explain why we all seem to think of something that can go so fast, eat road miles and possibly kill us if we don't concentrate as female?

All the bikes I have ever owned have been female, even a 1979 Triumph Bonneville which did nearly kill me. This thing only had quarter bafels in it, was loud as hell but was female.

Any thoughts?

I think you answered your own question with the two pieces of information............

"could possibly kill us" and

"loud as hell"

as to why they are all mostly female

My GTR1000 Kawasaki is "Das Boot" Gender neutral

Cheers, SB

Haha,
Think this one is pretty easy,
Shall we compare,
Bike.. Fast
Wife.. talks fast
Bike.. Eats road miles
Wife.. Eats cash like cornflakes
Bike.. May kill
Wife.. Will kill
Bike.. Freedom
Wife.. Wife... Wife

Why do I have a wife again? And not just the bike, and very good question why the hell DO we call them girls?
But to really sum it all up, it's much better to take the "girl" for a ride the the "boy". My bikes a girl and I love riding her

My "Old Girl"; on a bad day she can drive me to distraction. Fussy and totally non-compliant over some little minor issue; that to me, is of no importance in the "Great Scheme of Things"

On a good day; she can bring a smile to my face and a thrill to my heart that makes me totally overlook the bad days.

Pretty much like a wife really.

I cannot speak for everyone else but I know I would never ride a male.

You're danm right !
BUT my bike is a boy because hs is very nervous and strong He can hurt me when he want, so he is stronger than me.
I always says that he is my bad brother

So my bike is boy, not b;*ch

That's always been my train of thought.

However "could possibly kill us" and "loud as hell" is an awesome way to look at it too!

Well i think its because they are both our objects of desire. My "Annie" is a tribute to Annie Lennox. I had a pretty hard thing for her back in the 80's. :-)

Might be interesting to ride over to the 'Ladies Lounge' and ask them if their bikes are male or female?
