^ I agree with you on that one. I have a thing for a steam launch. I want to put up and down the river. I am in no hurry to get anywhere when on the water. My dad use to say, "The faster the boat-the smaller the lake".

Sprock lives near the coast. When cb2cbr and I were at his place he wanted to show off his boat. It's small with only room for one but can get into the shallows.

Here's Sprock heading to the beach with his boat.

Here's mine,

1. Any FI Honda CBR 1100 Blackbird
2. Any Honda CBR 1000F from 89 onwards. ( Sorry just not a fan of the 87 and 88 models ).
3. 1999 Suzuki Hayabusa - unrestricted
4. Suzuki 1200 Bandit ( faired model ) - simple, cheap and ballsy.
5. Any bike ridden by Joey Dunlop in the IOM. RIP Joey.

and if I could slip in a number 6 my trusty old 97 GSXF 750 was a reliable old girl and NEVER let me down. I couldn't kill it if I tried. I had it for 5 or 6 years and was sorry I ever got rid of it but you can't keep them all.......

1. Ducati 750GT
2. Moto Morini 500
3. Suzuki TL1000S
4. Suzuki GSX-R 750
5. Honda CBR1000F
6. BMW 1200GS-A
7. Kawasaki 1000GTR Concours
8. Solo 50cc Moped

I probably have had more fun on the moped than any other bike. The Kawasaki has transported me all over Australia with efficiency and style , The Suzukis for all out ball tearing fun and terror, The BMW if I had to choose one bike for the rest of my riding days, The Moto Morini, 'cause I love the sound, and the Ducati is the one I don't own - yet....................................

It's a traditional cutter. Depends on the waters and especially the winds of your locale. Great tacking into the wind, but not so good on a reach. Coastal enforcement used them back in the day. Fast out of port to rescue a wreck or intercept smugglers

Not a great rig for the Sound. Channels and topography around here make the wind come from different directions at times. Add strong tidal currents to the mix and it's really a tactical challenge to sail here
