I kinda like the fact that you need two Buick V8's to get one of them engines started.

Commuter practicality was clearly not a major concern.

Anyway, back on topic: from my teens and twenties,

1) Mk1 Escort BDA (the big guard one, that used to make that amazing noise in forestry special stages)

2) Shelby Cobra (good choice Shadow)

3) E-Type (of course)

4) MKII Jag 3.8 (slightly more practical than the E)

5) P5B Rover V8. (as befits a gentleman of my advancing years)

Damn, no room for an original Audi Quattro, just have to win Lotto again I guess.

The Shelby Cobra seems to be a popular choice amongst the old farts doesn't it?

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't pass the "Top Gear Rug Test" though, so we might just all be kidding ourselves.

Besides you could park it anywhere you like - who'd try to steal it.............

BUT if you're insisting on 5 cars
E Type drophead 1965 (had the syncro box)
Lamborghini Diablo roadster
Lancia Delta Integrale
McLaren F1

^ Have you ever heard of the Hackercraft Thunderbird? You can put this baby on the top of any #5 list and go from there.
