Wife's / family car is an '08 Forester, great car..comfy, safe, kick **** six stacker with a sub. Mine's a '99 V6 4x4 Holden Rodeo dual cab. It's thirsty but a bloody great ute! Fairly comfy (for a 4x4), goes hard and, with the helper springs I fitted, will carry 1100 litres of water and still do 120kmh easy..very thirsty though. I've had it from new and will keep it until it falls apart.

I had a vivid dream, when I had only just started driving, that I was driving a red Ferrarri. No ****, it was one of those dreams when you're in control of what happens and I still remember waking up, looking out of the window, and seeing my red beast parked out front...trouble is it was my red Yugo work van . When I snapped out of it I was really gutted .

I can't afford a car that would flip my switch. They're just for getting the family around safely and carrying stuff. Might get a turbo Forester next time..0-100kph in 7.5 seconds and with all the good **** ours has. The cbr must do it in a touch over 3 seconds though . What a bargain they are!

He he..
I've had so many car dreams. Maybe not as much as sex dreams, but pretty dam close. I've driven 'em all... lol..

I know what you mean about the family thing. The jeep cherokee was kinda my "family" pick (4dr/AC/4wd). The pickup comes in handy for moving stuff, the Civic for economy, the bikes....well... for me!
However, I'm already planning a turbo build for the civic, so I'm hoping that will be the car to "flip my switch" as you say. The wife's new corolla is family/economy enough, right?

I love my old trucks, but I will be in the market for a new one soon. Really sucks too because I haven't had a car payment in 5 years.

I have a '93 Dodge Dakota that I saved from the wrecking yard and made a hell of a 4x4. 5" lift and 33's. I basically use her for an off road, hunting and romp toy because she gets about 13-14mpg. I kick the crap out of the ole girl and she starts up evertime. This thing is a sherman tank in 4LO and has yet to get me stuck. Great off-road. About 160k on her clock. Plenty of what we call "Arizona Pinstriping". I'm gonna keep her for awhile.

I also have a '00 Chevy S10 that will be going bye bye soon. I promised myself that when she hit 200k miles I'd go buy a new truck, well we're up to 210k. I bought her with 7 miles on it for my exwife and got stuck with it in our divorce. Needless to say that truck has been a sore spot for me because I had to sell my 4x4 GMC Sierra when we split because I coouldn't afford both vehicles at the time. Hind sight being 20/20 it actually ended up being good with the fuel costs she gets about 27mpg. I was gonna trade her in on the cash for clunkers deal but she gets too good mpg lol. That ole girl just won't die, I actually ran her out of oil one day and she didn't mind a bit! (don't change your own oil when you've had about a 12 pack, small things like tightening the drain bolt enough may get overlooked )

I'd like to get another full size 4x4 GMC. I really liked the one I had. Maybe a diesel this time. mrsparks wants a baby though so my big truck may get shot out the window for an SUV with 4 doors. I guess I'm getting domesticated.... I did drive a rental car, 09 Chevy Equionx awhile back and really liked it though.... hmmmmmmm

micheal, I had a 1989 Dakota. It was a 2wd, though, and a V6 Magnum (5sp).
I beat the living **** out of that truck. I'd go hill hopping in it and burn tires off and everything. I sold it with like 175k miles on it, and I STILL see it driving around sometimes. You can tell it's mine because the rear bumper is bent where I backed into a concrete porch with it. That truck was awesome.

I also had an S10 for a work truck for a while. It was a '96 4.3Vortec. Being a work truck, it got it's *** beat on a regular basis, too. Just as smooth with 200k miles on it as it was with 2miles. I've thought about getting rid of the toyota and getting one. The 4.3Vortec is a great motor.

Sir Trout, here here! I got that magnum (3.9L?) in here with an auto. NEVER a lack a power, only a lack of fuel haha.

Actually a real funny story with her. Kinda of a Frankenstien truck. The motor went out in her at about 140k miles. And it sat in a field for almost 3 years, so she's got bad paint oxidation. Anyhoo, my old nieghbor kid was a real bastid (wrong thread? ). Some of his enemies torched his identical truck. But they did a bad job and only burned the interior of the cab. The trans/motor/transfer case just fine with 90K. Funny part is the dumb @$$ didn't have it insured. I gave my mechanic $750 for the truck not running and got the trans/motor/transfer case for $500. I've sank a ton more into it than whats its worth, and I'd never get it back. But I do have one hell of a war wagon .

Pisser about the S10, she is old and beat up so I really don't care about door dings, scratches, and dents. Just after I wrote my last post, my boy took her to the corner store for some crap for my wife (same one who got the ticket...). Any rate some a-hole in a blazer hit it while he was in the store and ran. No major damage, but you can see it. Minus some paint and now plus a damaged wheel well. He tried to give chase to get a plate, but a 2.2L vs a V-8 you do the math. She's still kicking just fine, just sucks for me sellin her on the street corner when I get my new one. Guess I'm just gonna keep her till she dies now...

I think the funniest part is I'd be super pissed if it was my old dodge, her... meh.

Hate to admit it, i work for toyota and cant afford to own one yet haha, i drive 00 Dodge Dakota, v8 5 speed. fun to drive but i hate it other wise. no wonder they needed to be bailed out! i plan on selling it very soon, i want like a 2002 Tacoma 5 speed, extended cab... eventually ill supercharge it...
Anyone into Tuners? i go to car shows and street races every week... cant get enough...my girl drives a 02 Celica... she actually hydro locked it this summer, we had nasty rains this summer in Colorado and she hit way too big of a puddle(more like a lake lol). She bent 3 rods and snapped 1! so now she has an excuse to build it... right now i have it on an engine stand... got it sleeved and bored .040" over, new rods, pistons, valves... new aftermarket clutch, header and cams are in the future...
