Jules, there is a pretty wide pay range for nurses over here, but most pay well. There is a really good demand for them, too...

but I love my own country ..it's just what I know :-)
I can understand that... It looks like you live in a very beautiful country indeed.
The US is pretty cool, too, though.

Kaska... line painter is the best job on the crew! They must trust you pretty well....
You're not the guy who did this, are you??? LOL

cont'd
Coachbuilder, Nurse, IT (genetic instrumentation) and a man who's good with a camera
and works construction. Shaping up to be a wide ranging group of folks that's for sure.
Pretty cool bunch all the same.

Couple of jacks of multiple trades in there too.

We make intruments for genetic research,
Harry, my sister works in the same type of field. Not IT (that's her husband's job..), but she is in molecular biology. She used to work for UPenn's research department (where she got her doctorate), but now she's working for another big college in PA. Last I heard, she was regrowing myelin sheath and nerves in lab rats. Genetics is a cool field. Very cutting edge.

The grass may not be greener here.

Jules, it depends on your certs. Some friends of mine are in your field. Some work in the OR and are paid well, some better than others depending on their cret. Some of my friends are paid crap as visiting or registered nurses. They lift all day long and are paid crap.

I am a migrant nuclear inspector, BTW. NO I DO NO GLOW!

I would rather be hanging out with Hawkwind (as he is not a sky puff) and meeting some of those single female coworkers of his. There are many friendly single ladies in the airways. There is nothing here for me. In over 700 flights, I have only met about 5 not-so-friendly ladies working the planes.

Interesting, TimBucTwo...
I do a little bit of rad monitoring, too. Not quite that type, though.
We have to monitor all the inbound and outbound trucks to this facility. We have Exploranium monitors on the scales. If they go off, they send me in to investigate. 9 times out of 10 it's medical (Iodine 131/Med Tec, etc.), but the tenth time it'll be something interesting...
I like the old radium watch dials...
I've only been concerned a couple of times. One time, as soon as I stepped out of the scalehouse, the monitor started making this crazy noise that I'd never heard before. I mean, I was standing like 75ft from the truck! I look down at the screen, and it just says "GET AWAY!!". lol... It turned out that some nurse (here they are again) had apparently dumped straight medical iodine vials in the trash. It scared the chit out of me, though...
These handheld monitors we have are neat as hell. I just think it's cool that a handheld can tell you the dose and exactly what it is. Isn't technology beautiful?
