Thursdays a BIG day..............

Thanks for your kind thoughts Mr & Mrs SB; but I think you know me well enough to know I'm not that big on ceremonial type stuff.
Plan at this stage is to go to work and have a pretty much normal day. The Good Lady Wife has already bought me a present (which I didn't actually want, but it was something she wanted ; a kick **** remote speaker that links up with her Galaxy tablet thing).

That's one thing where we are alike Teeks. While I do enjoy taking part in the festivities of someone else's Bday, I feel mainly awkward to celebrate my own. When my wife asks me what to I want for my birthday I always say "to not get noticed"...
So, from a grumpy man to another slightly grumpier (read older ) I say unto you, have an average thursday.
And sorry, no sweets n mags coming either, my homing pigeon is still recovering from the last trip. Shoulda known a month early anyway...

Thanks for your thoughts guys; as predicted it has been a totally normal Thursday.
Shadow, you obviously know me much better than I would have ever guessed, I have always enjoyed that piece of music, right from when I first heard it.
I always imagine it being delivered by Jack Nicholson in sunglasses to a slightly surprised group of junior school graduates.
Any way, highlight of my day. I came up with an original truism that you are welcome to use when appropriate (as long as you give me credit and refer to it as Teeks truism.)
We have a client at work who has become in a bit of a nasty battle with the local Council. Whilst he is probably right, sometimes you just have to pick your battles and move on.
We are trying to negotiate both parties into a compromise position.
So during a wide and free ranging discussion at smoko I made the comment;
"It's all very well to occupy the moral high ground, but Pete really needs to be sure that oxygen deprivation doesn't cloud his decision making"
Please feel free to use it where appropriate (with of course, the correct accreditation)
