scooter talk lol
Back in 1979 I bought my CB750F NIB.
It was the cutting edge of technology back then.
They mathematically said it was the first production vehicle to produce 100HP/1,000cc (75HP/750cc).
I can tell you it topped out at 125mph.
Check out the stats on the Gilera GP 800.
edit: With the CVT it may turn better 1/4 mile times.

OK; I'm prepared to put my hand up and confess to being the stupid one.
200 km/h top end; 45 lean angle, and quite edgy kind of styling; Why is that still a scooter and not qualified to be a motorbike???
Twin cylinder engine? .. Harleys have them.
Flat foot-boards? .. Harleys have them.
Low seat height so you don't tip off at stop-lights? .. Harleys have that.
Quite upright "in the wind" riding position? .. Harleys have that.
I'm beginning to wonder if this thing doesn't so much redefine what a scooter is, as much as it redefines what a Harley is??

This is how google defined scooter, I'm pretty sure it uses the official definition:
The bit in red is how I always viewed a scooter being different from a motorcycle... so I do wonder how they call this a scooter when you clearly straddle it like a motorcycle as seen below.

Although, this does seem in the same category as the Honda Grom that Raylee posted about recently... not EXACTLY the same, but the smaller wheels and selling points remind me of the Gilera and the Grom is deemed a motorcycle... Heck, the Gilera, kind of looks like the Grom but with full fairings...

Hmm... I really don't mind either way... I don't think I'll be trading in anytime soon
Just bored at work and figured I'd chime in

I was wondering what Wiki had to say a bout the definition of a scooter and much to my surprise saw the Fuji Rabbit on the page. I had one when I was 16 yrs old and can tell you anything you want to know about it.
UPS: It had a massive 150cc 2-stroke engine sitting in a 256lb frame and could blow away any 75cc Vespa out there. You shifted it by pulling in the clutch leaver and rotating the left bar grip. The starter/generator was the same, a dynamo.
DOWNS: Being a two stroke, if you poked the starter button instead of holding it down, the piston could come up and the engine could fire before TDC sending the crank in the wrong direction. When this happens, the engine will run backwards. When the operator has no idea the engine is running backwards, he will be thinking he has 4 forward gears when in fact he has 4 reverse gears. If the operator is a 16yr old wiseass that thinks his scooter is a hot rod, he will try to do a burn out in front of his mother who called him in for dinner. It is this Rabbit scooter engine trickery of running in reverse that is responsible for the scooter tail section shaped dent that was in my mom's car.
FUN FACT: Mothers will fly off the porch and pull your hair out by the roots while your slumped over the handle bars of a scooter that just suddenly launched you backwards into a parked car while you were trying to do a forward burn out.
