Default rules are made for reason

A video of a crash that happened few weeks ago near Tallinn, that raised a lot of arguing in local forums. The rider now knows why there is two lines and why you should not overtake in such situations. And hopefully the suv driver knows that left signal is no right to turn without making sure nobody is coming.

This is a current story from my local paper - happened not too far from here.

Didnt know the guy - but makes me mad when people act like he did

Dam shame people have to do stuff like this.
Hopefully some people can learn from it.

One thing I don't understand, though, is this:

And hopefully the suv driver knows that left signal is no right to turn without making sure nobody is coming.
As much as I hate the kind of dumb shlt crazy cagers pull, I don't understand what the SUV did wrong? I don't see a whole lot that the SUV could have done to prevent this..

Sir Trout . Looks to me like the rider was just going too fast for the conditions and didn't anticipate the situation . Hard to tell from such a short clip , but as much as I like to defend bikers , it looks like he had it coming . Hope he wasn't injured and I hope he learnt a valuable lesson - always expect the unexpected!

Harry though it's tragic a young man dies , WTF was he doing? All the peeps saying what a cool guy he was , should also spare a thought for the poor woman he almost killed and seriously injured. There's a reason he was banned and that's probably what got him killed , took one risk too many , the odds will get ya in the end!

mmm yeah - give way rules are notoriously different atound the world but here the UK (obviosley with directions reversed as we drive the other side) the SUV was at no fault at all - but it may not be so everywhere (???)

Yep, hawk.. That's what it looks like to me, too.

Dam shame.. both stories.

We, as riders, have enough shlt to worry about. Doing crazy stuff all the time multiplies your chances of a bad situation by millions.

I've done plenty of stupid stuff, I won't lie, but nothing like some of the stuff i see people doing out there. In town/in traffic is a bad place to play around....

Well the suv driver did not do anything wrong, but there is a saying in rules that while making left turn one must make certain that no one is already passing him. but in that case as there was two lines well he did nothing wrong. And the biker is all to blame and luckily he already know that. But unfortunately at pretty high cost:S
