^^ Hmmm... could be a good excuse if you're ever up north, tho. "I wasn't speeding. I was going 110 like the sign says."

"Ohhhhh....I'm so sorry, officer. I thought I was allowed to go 110 MILES per hour. Big mistake and it will never happen again! By the way.... I really like Molson, hockey, and Tim Horton's. "

No kidding when we were up there in June , hockey was a bad word ---->
because of the Bruins , Hortons is always awesome -----> we have 'em
here in ME ! , Molson os akay ....-----> up there tho they have some other
nice brews like Rikards Red & Alexanders (makes ya **** a lot ..lol !) ) etc .

But hey out in the rurals we'd cruise 85 + with little hassles

Our national speed limit on freeways is 120 KPH, but you have leeway to 130 KPH. So, 85 MPH is generally where we cruise.............

And back on topic a 600 runs out of steam around 245 KPH. Can't live with a Hurricane beyond that, even my old lady runs away from a 2011 R6.

Question for you guys. 245 KPH is 152 MPH. Will our machines 1000f run that fast. I have to admit, I haven't held mine on that long. I do know it runs 125-130 with little effort.

Yes they will, but you must use all your revs in 5th to get them there.
Best speed I have done on my bike measured on a GPS is 161MPH average over an 11 Km run.

That's just naughty.

I don't think there is anywhere in NZ that you could run for 11 km without coming across a corner, a cop, or a sheep.

Sheep, generally not in this part of the country. Roads are fenced too.
Cops, yes but we did it at a "quiet" time and scouted the road beforehand.
The road has long sweeps but no major "grit your teeth" corners, but even so they do come up FAST You need a bigger island with more straight bits Kiwi
I never understood what Mick Doohan meant when he said you have to physically force a bike to turn at high speed, until that run. It is physically demanding for sure.
Gave me more understanding of the physical effort that a moto GP rider has to expend for 30 odd laps.
Naughty - yes, but what would life be without a little "spice" ?

A mate of mine from Dunedin was telling me recently about giving his 1200 Suzi the big effort down a straight in Southland. Totally unexpected corner comes up and he had to give it all he had to get through on his side of the white line.

Classic comment thou was (the digital speedo) "Was reading 218, when I came out the other end, don't know if that's how fast I was going or my feckin heart rate"

He also had a bit of a b1tch about the "corner should have been signposted" so he knew it was coming up. I guess at 100 k it didn't need to be signposted, at 200+ k you're starting to have to take responsibility for yourself?

I was on a freeway, so had 2 lanes plus the extra bits inside the yellow lines, and there were times I used almost all of it. Don't think I'll be doing that again soon
I rode a friends Suzi GSX1000 with major mods recently (194 BHP at the rear wheel)
and that went to a genuine 300 KPH (180 MPH) before my plums turned into dates
Lethal weapon's Danny Glover said it best......
"I'm getting too old for this ****" hehe
