Agree with you Conrice. Something I will do after replacing the fuel filter.
Seafoam is a solvent as well as a stabilizer
The gist of this method is to introduce straight seafoam into the intake and really giving the injectors and valve guides a good cleaning, like pouring gumout down the throat of a carborated engine. Some claim it removes carbon but I think that's an exaggeration.
The company that makes Seafoam actually suggests 1/3 of a bottle in your gas tank, 1/3 in your crankcase oil and the remaining third applied as above.
