They aren't really "ghost" flames though. I have done ghost flames.. I'll pot a pic. Let me get off my phone and grab my computer.
I hear you. All I really meant was that I like ghost flames because they're subtle. (Your ghosts are awesome, too, btw)
Which is why I said I didn't think it needed more white. Darker if anything... so they start to sink.
BUT... that's just my personal opinion. I'm probably in the minority (judging from other responses.... lol)
Many people like the contrast.

Right. When my husband came home he told me he decided on adding white. I like the darker "stealth" look myself as well. Oh well, it will look good either way I suppose.

No doubt about it. I don't think you can go wrong either way. You can paint.

Hey:

Great Job! I just want to add one thing before you get to much further along and that is before you spend time painting the rear tail/cowl, get a 93+ newer one as that will add a much nicer appearance to your bike IMHO. That is unless you like the Cylon look of the one you have. Other than that keep up the info as that looks to be a much improved ride from when you guys started. Enjoy, Good Luck and have fun. Here is an example that is not too bad on price, a very easy upgrade, and needs a paint job anyway. It just needs a tail light too.

That rear cowl look MUCH better! Trying to make me spend the kids Christmas money? Our current cowl has already been painted black, but I am not bringing the flames that far back. *sigh* now I want that 93 cowl..

Hey:

What better present could your kids have than Mommy and Daddys great looking bike, oh that probably won't work will it, If you are not in a hurry your can find one in that price range with the tail light and wiring harness $50-100, but better examples tend to go for more, and get snapped up quick, as that is a nice upgrade for the 89-91 bikes.
Also if you ever get some cash ahead and can find a good deal on the 93+ front uppers you can eliminate the turn indicators on the cowl they match pretty good just need the fairing frame too. Then you can get some mirrors with indicators (08 Suzi GSXR 1000R or Hon CBR1100XX/1000RR) in them and really bring the bike into a more modern look, plus eliminate the weak point on those front upper cowl/fairings (cracks breaks at the rear of the indicators) plus then sell those you have as they look to be in good nick and not be out much cash in the end, just some things to ponder. Hopefully this Winter won't be like last years as that was a little to cold for a normal year round riding area. So that way you can get the look sorted the way you want by Daytona time if so inclined. Have fun hunting and shopping for you guys and the kids.

Yeah, those upper fairings being the turn signals are all smashed and cracked up. They look like crap, but I can't find any online. Eliminating them sounds like a great idea! Thanks for all the input

Hey:

Also I am sure you have pondered this you could just fill the indicators on the one you have, that will make them stronger and just find a set of mirrors with the indicators on them and save having to find newer fairings, fairing frame windscreen and light, plus save you a bunch of cash on something you already have. The tail is the main upgrade that the 89-91 need to me after that it is more a personal preference. Lots of little pieces on the 93-00 types that add up quick if you have to buy them apart.

look at these: you just may need to fab some adapter plates to mount to the oddball 89-91 mirror mounts.GSXR 600 750 1000 05-10 07 SUZUKI TURN SIGNAL MIRRORS | eBay
