It would look crap on the forks. Doing it the way in the pic would probably work ok. Even though a portion of the air going into the radiator would be warm, having gone through the oil cooler, I still think it would be ok. I know my bike always runs in the very cool end of the temp guage unless it's in town and then it wouldn't make a heap of difference anyway since there's sod all air going through. With a fighter you'd probably run a bit cooler in town anyway since the fairing must trap a lot of heat.

 

Since I can't post in the Sale/Found folder I was wondering if anyone has a fairing stay for an 87 1000F they'd be willing to part with.

I also need a top triple. One from an early 90's model will work just fine.
