Yep, the '77 SOHC CB750K's had 4 into 4 but the F's had 4-1. Honda postponed the release of their new DOHC inline-4 until '79 to celebrate the 10 year run of the inline-4 CB750's. Quite a lot of changes including the 4-2 pipes.
The '79 also had chrome acorn nuts whereas the '80 and later had stamped out bolt and nuts. I believe the '80's and newer also had the 80 MPH clocks that were white back lit whereas the '79's were 135 MPH or so with red back lighting.
The only draw back with the '79 is that it had swing arm bushings rather than the later years with needle bearings.
