Indians spotted in the west...

Funny how things turn out, I took a tour of the Springfield Armory and the Smith & Wesson plant just down the road from there, with the Boy Scouts a few years ago. At the Smith & Wesson plant there was a bin of shifting forks. When I asked about them the tour guide told us that because of their close tolerances with their dies, they are the only ones contracted by H-D to forge their shifting forks.
Isn't it ironic that that a motorcycle company from Milwaukee, WI that put the Indian motorcycle company out of business, would have parts made just down the road from the original Indian factory?
Hey! Kilgoretrout, is that my laptop? It sure looks like it.
I am looking for a 1911A1.

That is ironic about the shifting forks.... Interesting..
My laptop is a Dell Studio. My wife got it for me for christmas last year. I like it so far...
So you're looking for a 1911, huh?
I've was never a huge fan until I got this one. It has been flawless through at least 3,000 rounds now, and loves all my reloads. I decided on a Springer because I've heard nothing but good things about the company, and their 1911s, and I wanted a stainless one that wouldn't break the bank.
What kills me is all the 1911s out there that are insanely expensive. Like Kimber, for example. They look ok, but who wants to spend $1500 on one? I don't, especially after hearing horror stories. They just aren't built like they should be for a $1k-$1500 gun, imo. They get bought right up, though. Kimber used to be a quality custom shop, don't get me wrong, but now they are just cranking out guns as fast as they can.
My springer was $570 with 2mags, 2 sets of grips, a mag pouch, and a holster.
I really like the Dan Wessons, too, and a CBob will probably be my next 1911 purchase. That's about as high as I'll go, though. CZ/Dan Wesson makes quality guns, and their pricetag is much more in line. They are expensive, but at least high quality comes with it. Hopefully all this crazy bullchit will die down soon, and they'll go back to about $800 instead of over $1000 and out of stock like they are now. People are being so stupid about this Obama BS.
Anyway, here's a pic of the CBob.. Just a classy looking (and well made) 1911.
