I had occasion to have to stay in the "Law Courts Hotel" in Dunedin a couple of years ago when I had to appear before the Environment Court.

Right next door to the courts, so very handy; but oh dear.

Their major claim to fame is that the Queen stayed there when she visited Dunedin in 1959.

They haven't redecorated since, and I suspected from the smell in the toilet that they hadn't cleaned that since the Queen had been there either.

The in-house restaurant offered "home style meals" - after having eaten there I can only presume that what they actually meant was "not restaurant quality".

It all sounds big fun to people that don't have to travel for work , "to get put up in a flash hotel, and have all your meals cooked" , but honestly, at least half the time it's just ****.

I'd rather be at home any day of the week thanks (of course hotels that you stay in on Bike Club rides have a different rating system).

I understand that completely.

Being out in the sticks is a nice change from the hills, but I have 3 more nights in country hotel accommodation before Mrs SB propellers in to Port Lincoln.

Then all will be good with the world And we get to drive the 800km back home together

holding hands

and singing tunes

while doing the crossword....

at 120km/h

ok I know...............

Thank you for the chat Seb mate, as always, all the best mate, give that lovely wife of yours a kiss from me (or whatever you feel would be appropriate when you meet back up with her in a few days time)
