Default I Survived

Just popping in to say hello. I survived my back surgery ( Dec. 1 ) with a little complication afterward that I had to deal with. Now, I'm enjoying my pain meds. & working on healing my body. I hope you all had a Happy New Year as well as a safe one.

Hmmm - well I don't think we've met, but glad you're ok. What did you have done to your back?

And more importantly what pain meds?? I hope some good stuff.

Thanks for asking guys! Blew my L-4/L-5 back in 2006, had it removed. Dealt with bone on bone for the past 4 years, it wasn't that bad unless I had a flare up which was not much in the beginning until about a year ago. The flare ups would last about a week give or take a day...nothing but sitting in my recliner. I finally told myself I'm done with this & saw my surgeon (Navy Seals Surgeon). Had my Fusion done Dec. 1.

Take it slowly mate. Enjoy the meds and the sponge baths. How long 'til you're up and about?

Ohhh, I'm up & about but laying low relaxing so the fusion takes nicely. The surgery itself went great I was told but I had little problem the day after. My insides...colon didn't want to go along with the wake up process afterwards so I ended up turning a 1 night stay into a 12 day hospital visit. I looked like I was 7 months pregnant till they figured out what to do to get my colon back on track. Since you guys really seem to care about me, especially when my wife is giving me my long & slow sponge baths I will tell you the details. They called in a GI Doc ( license plate A$$MAN ) & he suggested a decompression colonoscopy which worked immediately. My colon was back to making noises . Three days later I was home. Anyway my fusion went well & I am the way to healing.
