Can someone with a '91 onwards CBR1000F help me with the length of this fairing mounting bolt? It's on the left side behind the pop-off slide protector. I need to know the length of the spacer section if possible.
I don’t know the answer to your question but that is called a standoff bolt. They are pretty common and you should be able to find something that works.
yup - hoping someone with a 91-99 can take a quick look so I don't have to guess. Otherwise I'll pop the cover off and measure the space - the fairing is a bit floppy though so hoping to get the right measurement.
Metric standoff might a tough one to find off the shelf. You may have to go OEM. Even though there are a shortage of original parts for our bikes, fasteners seem to still be the most available
12GBP shipping to the USA... - I guarantee my local Ace Hardware has connector bolts in M6 on the shelf - just need one of those and cut the end off another M6 bolt and locktite it in. I just need the correct length ;-)

M6-1.0 connector nut and M6-1.0.stud and some red Loctite. Shoot me all of the critical dimensions and we'll talk. As long as it doesn't need to be high-strength. I can hook you up. On me.
We'll PM later.

If I have what works, you owe me a virtual pint from the saloon. Cheers

Appreciate it - it seems that no one wants to go out to their bike, take the slider off and tell me how long that connector is :-( I'll try to work it out over the week - finagle the fairing until it looks like it's in the right place then measure the space.
Might also be a good project for me to do on my 12" micro lathe - though cutting m6 internal threads I might just cheat and use a tap ;-)
