Hi guys I have noticed that my side light comes on when I break. Is this normal or am I shorting out somewhere.

 

Shorting out - there's a really crappy connector under the rear tail (remove the seat) which links to the sidelights and rear light - most likely its the problem. Electrical cleaner, or replace with something simple from amazon.

 

Shouldn't be any connection between brake-light circuit and side/winker lights. Some wire is cross-connected incorrectly from brake to side-lights circuit.
