No water to turn in one of those little babies Sprock .

I learned 2 things the first time I ever emptied one into a hole.

1. Stand upwind!

2. Don't pour too quickly...especially if you've ignored no. 1 !!!!

It won't change the direction of the rotation by reversing the plug, AC doesn't have a "direction" and as Dave stated you could energize bits you don't want energized

Agreed. AC isn't polarity reversible Steve.
What are you attacking anyway?
I cut the lower steering stem bearing off last week using the Dremmel with a thin cutting disc. It was literally like a hot knife through butter. Quite amazing.
Get some goggles, or perhaps you could use some of those eye covers they serve out on long flights..... he he.

Surely then he'd go to sleep. Wouldn't that be even more dangerous??

Even if you could reverse the direction of rotation, you'd then have to replace all the screw-on bits with lefthand thread, or they'd spin off

SINGLE phase AC motors can't be reversed like that. 3ph can be.
However, I believe the dremel is converted AC to DC and runs a DC motor. You could change the direction internally on the DC side.
But.... then you would have to install a switch to make it reversible (is there enough room for one?) because if you didn't.... your collet would become loose and drill bits wouldn't drill.

Edit: I'm left-handed, btw... lol..

Not a bad plan, Steve.
Although... being a lefty he will likely see right through your plan. He won't say anything, but he'll get you back ten fold for sure. LOL....
