Man that's pretty tragic TK even if through stupidity

 

I agree Sprock, let's just hope that all of us guys have been wise enough parents that our teens would never put themselves in that sort of situation.

 

During my 17 years in the police I have seen many people burnt and saw one guy commit suicide by burning himself to death. Its a horrible way to die and even if you do live in the short term, usually infection sets in due to the skin being so badly damaged. Silly stuff that should never have happened.

 

As TK's title implies, evolution will always find a way to weed out the weak and unwary?

A very harsh lesson.

In NZ we have an "all encompassing, no blame" health care system called ACC.

So it gives the best health care and attention that it can to ferals like this.

But if I **** of my bike and smash my knee, they are quite happy to expend just as much time and energy to find experts that will confirm that my pain is degenerative (because I'm over 50) and therefore not covered.

Never mind that I've been contributing to the collective cover for more than 30 years thru' my taxes. So the little 17 year old ferals that have contributed nothing to society (because they've been sitting at home huffing LPG and collecting the unemployment benefit) will probably get more care and attention than I ever would.

Same here Kiwi only its called Medicare here. We get slugged the Medicare levy at tax time which for me is around $1300. That's in addition of course to paying a minimum of 1000 per f/n in tax and then everything we buy is also taxed because of the GST and on and on and on and on........
