Car question for the US guys over here

Yeah, have to agree with that. Over my years at work as a surveyor I have been into some pretty gnarly places at times with Toyota's and they have always done the job for us. The addition of a small block would have the double benefit of more low down grunt and a better noise.

Sounds like a good option
How about something totally different; a Ford F250, extended cab, 80-86 model; any good?
Has to be extended, as with my 6 foot and 7 inches, I usually have to lengthen the seat sliders, and that's no use when there's no room behind the drivers seat LOL.
I'd even consider looking at diesel powered trucks... I can turbocharge it myself or just buy a kit whenever I get bored with the power they produce.

Fit a nitrous kit rather than a turbo
A lot less work, engine runs cooler, and lots of extra GO
I can see the Dutch Traffic Police setting up a tent outside your house,
for when you come out
The extended F250 is a good bet, IMO. Plenty of parts (even here)
6'7" HOOOOOOOOOOOO
If you're anything like my buddy Juan (6'5") his wife is 5'1" hehe

Hey:
F250 are fine trucks, same as Bronco for issues but more durable/Heavier, just a little ugly during those years, too bad you can't do a newer one a Chevy 89+ is very good looking but 74-87 they are that big box truck look. 67-73 also look nice for Chevy, Dodge and Ford just alot harder to find an extended cab one. Also Chevy 350 engines are the same till 87 update. Ford 351W or C engines are pretty good too, just like Mopar 318 in Dodge. Too Bad you couldn't get one from here as my Neighbor is selling his Ford truck with 351C in it pretty cheap just not a extended cab. It runs great, but drinks the fuel with those big valve heads. Good Luck on your search.

I love the look of late eighties early ninetees Chevy pick up trucks... I could just swap the newer style body onto an older chassis as long as that chassis still has it's papers to it, but I guess those are hard to find.
Actually, I'd only need a bare chassis from '86 or before, and could (so to speak) put an entire 2011 younameit body on an old chassis, and drive it road tax free

Haha, easier said than done Dub, that'll set me back a lot of money I don't have... and I'd probably want to stay, wich I've heard is hard these days
I think I have no other options than looking for a car on craigslist (or whatever site is used a lot in the US for private car sales), then hope I can find someone who lives nearby and is willing to check it out for me... and then I have to arrange for shipping too.
