Default Best way to "preserve" spare carbs

I just received a set of carbs off a 96 F(that I won off ebay) that are in like new condition, the bike had 2700 miles on it and it has been stored inside since it was crashed years ago. I was afraid that they may be gunked up inside from fuel that went bad, but they look they have never had fuel in them.
I need some ideas on what I can put on them to keep them in this condition and keep seals and the rubber parts in good condition.
Thanks in advance,

I have a set of early ones - I just stored them inside in a dust free environment in plastic.

I guess the main thing is to keep them from getting dusty/dirty/wet. Dirt clogs stuff, and water + air causes oxidation.
However, rubber o-rings, diaphragms, and other rubber parts tend to degrade because either they dry out, sit in the sun, or get hit with a bad solvent.
So in that case, maybe dab a little silicone lube on the rubber parts before storage in a cool/dry/dark place. I wouldn't use a petroleum based product, though, as it could hurt the rubber more than it helps. They actually make silicon lubes designed for preserving rubber.
