Default question

hey everyone. i've got an off the wall question. how rare are the Red White Blue color CBR 1000F's? i've got a buddy who wants to sell me one and just want to convince the wife. any information would be greatly appreciated. its a 1990 with 8,800 miles and looks REALLY clean. i've looked at it up close and in detail and the guy selling it is a riding buddy and trusted friend. thanks
Don

The red white and blue is a great scheme , 8'000 miles is amazing . I'm supposing it's genuine as you seem to know where the bike comes from and the history .

Let us know where you are and price and we'll tell you how to convince the wife A few pics would be great too!!

Cheers!!!

As for rarity, it really isn't. The 1000F is kind-of a dying breed as they only had them in the states from '87-'96, but anything that came out 14-23yrs ago is gonna keep getting more rare.
BUT, they are still around.
In fact, there is a red/white/blue 1990 for sale about 10miles from here. It's got like 24k miles and I think the guy wants $1900. It's got a few scratches here and there, but not dropped and in pretty good shape.

$4500 is crazy - 93 models are going at less than half that in the US. The red/white/blue is probably the most common color set that they came in, so nothing special about that. For that kind of money you should find a good one, maybe even a 96 model.
Sorry but at that price your buddy isn't doing you any favors.

+1 those miles and colors or not .......4500 is steep ........ low threes is where I put
it and only if it's mint , new rubber not cam chain rattle and needs nothing but gas.

Got mine that way ......well almost....... for 2 k and it was one of the really sought
after silver ones just ask KilgoreTrout LOL

But really 4500.......... not a bargain ........ not saying it's not worth it ......just saying
there are cheaper out there.

Yep, I agree with $4,500 being high.
5yrs ago, I bought my '95 in pretty much mint condition for $2600 with 15k miles.
At the same time (about 2wks earlier) my buddy bought a red/white/blue 1990 for $2000 with 20k miles.

Keep an eye out if you want one. Nice ones can be had for much less than that.
